We recreated the Shake Shack 'shroom burger at home! Why, you ask? Well, we didn't want to go out on a snowy day, that's why! If you lived in Chicago, you'd relate! :) Either way - try out this fun and #easyrecipe that guarantees gooey, cheese-y mushroom patty. The #shacksauce is pretty spot on too! Ingredients:
Here are the ingredients we used in the #shakeshack#shroomburger :
1. Portobello Mushrooms
2. Muenster Cheese
3. Cheddar Cheese
4. Tomato
5. Lettuce
6. Potato Buns/Rolls
7. Ketchup
8. Mayo
9. Dijon Mustard
10. Cayenne
11. Pickle Juice
12. Eggs
13. Flour
14. Breadcrumbs/Panko
15. Oil, for frying
16. Salt/Pepper, for seasoning
Directions:
Remove stems and cook mushrooms in 375F oven for 12-15 mins. Let cool when done.
Mix Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, pickle juice in equal quantity. Sprinkle cayenne to taste and shack sauce is ready.
clean the lettuce, cut the tomatoes, and toast the bread/rolls.
When the mushroom have cooled down, cut the cheese slices into 4's and place b/w 2 mushroom discs. Then dredge the 'patty' in flour first, then eggs, then panko. Repeat 2-3 times to fill all gaps.
Fry on medium heat to melt the cheese.
